Huckleberry Hound, try keeping up. Joe didn’t tell me anything except that he had to switch to fiber. Nothing in his post contradicted my statement.

I concur. Vue is another great option.

If you need multiple streams for lots of family members/ tv's Playstation Vue is a great choice as well. Works with all major streaming devices. You don't have to have a Playstation, but you can use one. For what we watch at home it gave us the most for the money vs Directvnow, Youtubetv, Sling, or Hulu Live.

If you still use cable or worse DSL.
I don’t associate with poor people.
Why don’t you just whip out your 56k modem and sign on to AOL 3.0.

Am I right Joe?

I’m getting by on 100mbps. But I quit gaming with the last console generation change. I also have everything except tablets and phones on a wired network to get better performance. I haven’t switched to fiber because skyline hasn’t figured out how to really utilize the technology. Until just recently they have been letting Spectrum completely out perform them.

I switched to fiber but didn't have any choice since the road project took out my copper line and skyline reconnected me to a fiber line on my neighbors property. So far my only complaint is the battery backup for the phone is now on the wall in my house instead of in the interconnect building which was also taken out by the road project and hasn't been relocated

Yea I don’t really use the gaming systems the children do, I hardwire all the TVs and computers as well.

But there’s usually 2-4 phones or tablets being used at any given point.

Yuuuuuge bandwidth being used. LOL.

Now I pay out the *** for internet but that’s because I pay for 250 mb per second fiber optic.

But I’ve got 5 TV’s that stream, couple computers, and two gaming systems. Of which most could be being used at the same time.

It’s definitely the best.

I actually haven’t looked into that one. I’ve looked at Sling and DTVNow, but they didn’t offer some channels that I like and to get all that I wanted that they did offer, it wasn’t any advantage over traditional service.

Properly installed satellite service should rarely go out in storms. But the other side of that is cable tv service is behind the times in features and products. At least Charter/Spectrum is. The problem with cord cutting is it’s becoming more expensive than tv service. Also some ISPs are starting to cap monthly data limits. This of course would make DTV’s move to Internet more interesting. The big question is can TV survive with the TV service providers? The cable channels are figuring out how to adapt to streaming, but I’m not sure the big 4 networks can do it.

The cable TV (and satellite TV) marketplaces are dying. People are fed up with paying for 300 channels, only to watch 3-4 shows on a monthly basis. They are cutting the cord and moving to internet TV with low priced services like Amazon/Hulu/etc.

And satellite TV also has the disadvantage of going out every time it rains/snows/etc.

I wonder what DirecTV will do will all those old satellites they have floating up there????

Again you add nothing. Your anecdotal experience has nothing to do with the topic. But, let me explain something to you. What you are seeing is a commercial account. All providers have commercial programing. And the price is based on the maximum number of people that will be watching at one time. So most businesses pick packages that have very basic channel plans to save money. The DTV residential plans are basically the same. Your conclusion that DTV sucks based on the channels that a business has decided to pay for is complete ignorance on your part.

I go to Dailysis in the morning turn on the TV there's half the channels trying to sell something like. Vacuum cleaners or something to cook with or some preacher trying to get you to send him some money and on Saturday. There will be 2 to 3 channels you can watch the rest is junk channels and when I get. Home I got Dish you can't beat Dish and if you don't like what I say Don't read it

That's what they have over at the Dailysis center now they used to have Cable in the center but ever since they switched to DirecTV I think that DirecTV sucks
